Lorraine

Hello, my name is Lorraine.  I have a Diploma of Community Services (Children’s Services) and have worked as group leader in the babies room of a local

childcare centre for three years.  I am currently studying my Advanced Diploma externally through TAFE.  I have been a Children’s Church co-ordinator and have worked with children for most of my life.  I have also worked as a relief teacher’s aide.

I have been happily married to my husband Michael for twenty one years and have four children, they are now aged 18, 16, 14 and 13. I have been a family day care provider with Coral and Ruby for a little over a year now and am full of praise for family day care.

I love working with children and believe that every child is unique, valuable and precious.  They deserve to be treated with love and respect and their needs are as individual as they are.  With that in mind, I strive to cater to children’s individual needs and interests and program accordingly.

I strive to build healthy relationships with families and children and believe we all enjoy the benefits of that.

Josephine

Hi my name is Josi and I am currently studying Certificate
III in Children's Services. Gary and I have been married for
12 years and we have a wonderful son Declan.

Prior to Declan's arrival I worked as a florist. However even
with all it's creativity it pales in comparison to the
enjoyment I have experienced as a stay at home mum. We
fill our days with a huge variety of indoor and outdoor
activities oh and dinosaur hunts are a regular favourite at
our house so be sure to bring your pretend binoculars.

Janet

In 2004 I complete training with the CLAN WA Volunteer
Training program.  As a volunteer it was my job to do in-
home visits with the aim of providing support and practical
assistance to parents who were having difficulty managing
their children’s behavior and/or coping with their role as a
parent, I found this to be extremely enriching. Additionally,
I have attended training in relation to connection parenting
and connection teaching methods with Inside Out Training
Services, which facilitates training for parents and
educators in fostering positive interaction with children by
being present with children, understanding behavior, using
open communication, being child focused and using play to
deal with situations. For the past 2 years I have been a
Qualified and Licensed Kindermusik Teacher, providing
music and movement education classes to children
between the ages of 0 – 7 years.

Tracee

Hi my name is Tracee and I’m 24 and a mother of a
beautiful little boy Odyn William who is turning 4 on the
6th Nov. My partner Adam and I moved to Palmwoods in
August last year since living in Marcus Beach for a year prior.

I genuinely enjoy children’s company and I think I
understand them on a level that allows them to be natural.
I try to promote self esteem and challenge children to be
confident and independent. I explain the reasons “why”,
which I think helps kids reason and comprehend things
better which in turn aids in their knowledge and growth.

Every child is unique, and differs from the next. Each to
their own way of learning, and adapting and social
behavior. And every child deserves the best start to their
future.

Anita. R

Hello lovely families, My name is Anita.  I have been a carer for 21 years.  Firstly with the Kath Dickson Family Day Care Scheme in Toowoomba, then the Redcliffe Family Day Care Scheme.

My family moved to Maroochydore in 1992 and of course I became a Family Day Care Provider in Maroochydore.
I studied for my Diploma of Child Care and Education part time while raising my own children and caring for the many others that came and went over the next few years. During this time I have seen many children grow and learn and they all become part of our family.  (Yes.....I shed many a tear when they go off to school or leave my care when families move or change jobs)

Many of the children that I have cared for now bring their own children back to visit me.  We have made lifelong friends with the families in my care.  My own children are all grown up now with my youngest daughter completing Year 12 in 2010.

I provide a safe, warm and caring environment for the children to experience lots of activities.  Water play in the warmer months is fun and my program allows for all children
to choose what activities they wish to do each day.

I take loads of photos for parents to view and each of the children receive a scrap book at the end of each year of their year with me.  It is fun looking back on these books and the children look at them when I put new photos or their art work in them each week.

We love the outdoors and the children love the freedom of riding their bikes around, playing in the sandpit, playing with play dough or painting and creating their masterpiece to take home. Together with our fun and exciting craft experiences we also have quiet time with books, music and eating together.

These times are spent with great importance where they share
information about themselves and their families.  How enriching it is to find out from children that they have just learnt something new or their family has just done something wonderful. I love my job.

What better way of spending the day than playing with children, teaching them and watching them grow.

We are Leigh and Garth and we have been involved in
providing child care since 1986 and with Family Day Care
since 1994. I'm currently studying a certificate III in child
care ( Leigh).

We endeavour to maintain a family atmosphere so that
the children and their parents feel comfortable and
confident when they come to our home. We encourage
children to play and learn co-operatively and share in
whatever activities they are involved in. In short, children
learn new skills and undertake learning activities as part
of a normal days play.

My name is Suzanne I am 26 years old and have been

Jacqueline

In 1989 I moved to Coolum Beach with a 2yr old and already had the idea of being a stay at home mum. That same year I realized earning an income was also a priority. Hence my long journey with Family Day Care began. By the time my daughter started school I knew I had found my place. To me there is nothing I would prefer than working from home and caring for little people. There has been many changes through the years and the job has changed immensely on every level except the children and that is what keeps me going.

Being involved in the daily lives of your most precious is so rewarding. Helping them explore, share, communicate, play and learn in a home environment. I strive to provide a safe happy interesting and varied environment every day. Parenting can have its challenges and over these many years I've seen and heard just about everything. I’m always here to listen suggest and support you as well as care for your child. This to me is part of the Family Day Care Family. During these years I have completed cert II child care attended conferences, been part of committees and president of the carers fund raising for a time. I now have the pleasure of seeing young adults in the community that I knew as babies in my care. Some families who have become close friends and I have even been introduced to the children of children!
